Why This Chair Is Different
- All of the cedar is quarter-sawn for straight vertical grain and dimensional stability
- Full one-inch rough-sawn boards are planed and sanded to their finished thickness
- Seven-inch-wide arms provide room for a drink, book or plate
- Dual cross braces add support beneath the chair
- 305 and 316 stainless-steel fasteners are used throughout
- Each chair is made and prepared by me in small batches

Western Red Cedar naturally varies in colour from one board to another. I select a mixture of lighter and darker pieces so each chair shows the natural contrast and character of the cedar.
Finish and Care
The chairs shown in the product photographs have been stained with SICO ProLuxe 1 Primary Coat RE in the Natural tint. I use this finish because it brings out the natural colour and grain of the cedar without covering it.
Your chair will arrive unstained so you can choose the finish you prefer. I recommend applying a suitable exterior wood stain before assembly to help protect the cedar and slow the natural weathering process.
Assembly
Assembly generally takes between 1½ and 2 hours. You will need:
- An electric drill
- A tape measure
- An 11 mm or 7/16-inch wrench, socket or ratchet
The chair parts are predrilled and finish-sanded before packing. The kit includes full-colour assembly instructions, stainless-steel hardware, a seat-slat spacing tool and a driver bit.
The step-by-step video below shows the complete Adirondack chair assembly process.
Shipping
Orders normally ship within three business days. Shipping costs are based on the destination, parcel size and weight, and the rate for your location will appear after you enter your address in the cart or during checkout.
Each chair is packed in a double-walled cardboard box for added protection during shipping. I ship through the postal system, so please provide an address where your local postal carrier can deliver the parcel safely
International customers may be responsible for duties, taxes or other import charges assessed by their country.
U.S. orders: When the shipping carrier requires a tariff to be prepaid, I include that amount in the shipping charge shown at checkout. This helps avoid an additional tariff charge when the parcel is delivered.
