Cedar Blanket Chest
This Western Red Cedar blanket chest is designed as a storage piece for blankets, pillows and other household items, with the finished design shown in the product photos. I build it from clear, knot-free Western Red Cedar with an emphasis on clean lines, natural grain and the cedar aroma of the wood. The blanket chest is not currently in production, but I am keeping the design available on the website in case I return it to production in the future.

Designed for Cedar Storage
The blanket chest is designed as a practical storage piece for blankets, bedding and other household items. The hinged lid opens to a full-width storage compartment, while the simple exterior keeps the focus on the natural grain and colour of the cedar.
Construction Details
The blanket chest is built from individual Western Red Cedar components prepared and fitted to form the finished case and lid. The exterior is designed to keep visible fasteners to a minimum, giving the chest a cleaner finished appearance.
Each part is shaped, sanded and prepared before assembly, with the construction designed so the chest can be supplied as a kit for ease of shipping and to minimize shipping cost.

Assembly
The blanket chest ships as an unassembled kit made up of 40 wooden pieces, with full-colour instructions and all required hardware included.
The parts are pre-drilled where required, and assembly uses 305 stainless-steel screws. The required driver bit is included.
Finish and Care
The blanket chest is intended to be supplied unfinished so the cedar can be left natural or finished to suit its intended use and surroundings.
For indoor use, a suitable clear finish or oil can be applied if you want added surface protection while retaining the natural appearance of the wood. As with any solid-wood piece, avoid excessive moisture and wipe spills promptly.
